adults can buy their full price tickets with 50% discount, the children (6-18 years) can get student tickets with a valid

b.) disabled people and their companion (1 person) with any document clearly stating the fact of disability

d.) persons holding a valid Budapest Card can visit the Castle Museum, the Kiscell Museum, the Aquincum Museum, the Budapest Gallery and the Imre Varga Collection
e.) students and teachers of all educational institutions with which the BTM has a cooperation agreement for the purpose of introducing cultural heritage into the educational and pedagogical program.
f.) lecturers and students of the ELTE BTK Institute of Art History can visit the permanent exhibitions free of charge, while the temporary exhibitions can be visited with a 75% discount. The discount can only be used if the student/instructor presents the signed document “Proof for applying for discounted admission for students participating in higher art education” at the cash desk of the museum and his/her photo student ID card or photo identification document valid for the given semester.
g.) teachers and students of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts can visit the permanent and temporary exhibitions free of charge. The discount can only be used if the student/instructor presents the signed document “Proof for applying for discounted admission for students participating in higher art education” at the cash desk of the museum and his/her photo student ID card or photo identification document valid for the given semester.
h.) teachers, researchers, lecturers, staff and students of the Institute of History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (BTK TTI) of the Károli Gáspár University can visit the BTM member institutions and exhibitions free of charge upon proof of their status.
a.) they are EEA citizens 70 years or older
b.) teachers working in public education (EEA citizens), and persons holding a teachers’ ID card issued in an EEA member state
a.) for persons under the age of 26 or for up to 2 close relatives accompanying children under 18 on the last Saturdays of every month
b.) for every visitors on the national holidays of Hungary (15 March, 20 August, 23 October)
For citizens living in the 3rd District with a permanent residence, for children from the Kindergartens operating in the jurisdiction of the municipality and the teachers accompanying them, for children from primary and secondary schools operating in the jurisdiction of the municipality and the teachers accompanying them in the Óbuda-based institutions of the BHM: the Aquincum Museum, the Budapest Gallery, the Imre Varga Collection, the Kiscell Museum, the Hercules villa, to visit the permanent and temporary exhibitions, and to attend musempedagogy prorammes organized for child groups.

In other cases, not listed above, or due to individual assesments or requests to the general director of the BHM or the director of the given institution (info@budapestgaleria.hu), the general director of BHM can provide discounted or free entry.
The individual discounts can not be combined! To access discounts, eligibility must be communicated before purchasing the tickets, and upon request – in every case – must be proven. Besides the certificates/cards listed above that does not contain photograph, proof of identity is required.
The entrance fees and discounts indicated in this instruction apply to viewing the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibitions. During events the entrance fees apply as announced for the specific program.
