[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”2\/3″ el_class=”full-2″][vc_column_text]A joint exhibition of the Germany-based Collection Emilia Suciu and the Budapest-based Collection Sz\u00f6ll\u0151si-Nagy – Nemes will open on the same day at two nearby venues: Budapest Gallery and Vasarely Museum in Budapest.<\/p>\n
Both art collections have a broadly international profile and aspire to integrate Eastern and Western European artists into a global context. The two collections, each of which has Eastern European roots, were further shaped in Paris, incorporating influences from movements such as geometric abstraction, Op-art, kinetic art and the Paris-based MADI movement.<\/p>\n
The joint show, which presents works from the two collections (each of which has three decades of history behind it), was prompted by the professional and amicable relationship between the collectors. The Transylvanian-born gallerist Emilia Suciu and Hungarian artist Judith Nemes, who was at one point a long-time denizen of Paris, have worked together for many years. During their collaboration, the collection of Emilia Suciu and the collection of Judith Nemes and her husband Andr\u00e1s Sz\u00f6ll\u0151si-Nagy evolved in parallel, and although as collectors they share the same primary interests, this is the first time they are presenting their collections together in Budapest. The show will then travel to Ettlingen, Germany.
