Tickets:

Adult ticket: 800 Ft / person
Student, youth ticket (6–26): 500 Ft / person
Pensioner ticket (62–70): 500 Ft / person
Group admission for pensioners (11 or more people): 400 Ft / person
Educational programs: 600 Ft / person
Free admission for children under the age of 6 and seniors over the age of 70.

Guided tours:

In Hungarian, groups of up to 20 people, by appointment: 2.000 Ft / group
In Hungarian, groups of more than 20 people, by appointment: 2.500 Ft / group

Discounts:

A 50% discount on the entrance ticket applies to the following visitors:

a.) For families: for the 2 attendants accompanying at least two children. Student tickets should be purchased for the children.
b.) Holders of valid student identification cards (independent of age).

Admission is free of charge at the institutes of the Budapest History Museum for the following visitors:

a.) small children under the age of 6
b.) people with disabilities and their attendants (one attendant per person)
c.) valid museum admission card issued by the minister
d.) holders of valid Budapest Cards (exceptions are the Medieval Jewish Prayer House and the Imre Varga Collection)

The gallery is free of charge for Hungarian and foreign citizens alike if they are:

a.) European Union citizens over the age of 70
b.) pedagogues teaching in public educational institutes
b.) members of a national association with a public collection that have a minimum of 400 members (such as the Pulszky Society – Association of Hungarian Museums, Association of Hungarian Librarians, Association of Hungarian Archivists)
c.) for anyone on the last Saturday of every month for visitors under the age of 26 and in case of visitors under the age of 18 for – a maximum of two – close relatives
d.) for anyone on national holidays of Hungary (15 March, 20 August, 23 October)

Admission is free of charge with visitors who are holders of the following validated identification cards:

– ICOM card holders
– AICA card holders
– Press card holders
– Friends of the Budapest History Museum (Castle Museum, Aquincum Museum, Municipal Gallery)
– Union of Workers in Public Collections and Public Education Card holders
– Tourist guide card in the event that he/she arrives with a group
– and students enrolled in education focusing on applied arts, fine arts, art history, archaeology, history and tourist guide.

Free admittance applies only to visiting the exhibitions, additional tickets must be purchased for special events.
